Hi, my name is Layne and I’m 19 years old (will be turning 20 in May).
I grew up mainly in White Rock, BC where my parents moved us when I was
just 8 years old. I have an older sister and an older brother. I’ve
lived in a Christian home my whole life which continues to keep my
faith strong and keep me accountable. After I graduated, I started
working at Starbucks where I’ve been working ever since. I’ve always
wanted to go to Africa, ever since I can remember. I have a passion for
people, old, young, big and small. I want to one day own my own
non-profit organization. But I’d also like to go to school for
literature, history and journalism. I’m not too sure if I wouldn’t also
like to be a writer, a teacher or a journalist. I suppose we’ll all
just have to wait and see. In my passtime, I love to read. I probably
read more than anything else. But I also love the great outdoors and
anything sporty (snowboarding, skateboarding, running). I remember
being younger and always preparing for and awaiting some grand
adventure to who knows where. So the idea of “Adventures in Missions”
totally excites me. My little kid dreams are about to come true!
