Matthew Hussey

Hi, my name is Matthew Hussey. I am the youngest in my family of seven children; I four sisters and two brothers. Some of my favorite things to do are running, reading, and taking walks in nature. I started as a home-schooler until fifth grade when I started going to public school. I had the opportunity to join the track team, participate in musicals and stage crew, meet all sorts of new people, and get involved in an active community. I’ve also had the opportunity to work at a Christian summer camp ministering as well as playing with kids of all ages. This camp, Circle C Ranch, is where God first wakened my heart to ministry. One of my aspirations coming out of high school was to study mathematics, my favortite subject. But I’ve also had a strong calling throughout my life to serve God in whatever I do. I thought at first I wanted to be a math proffesor and become an expert and perhaps build a reputation for myself. I thought I would hate it if I had to teach in high schools or work with kids for the rest of my life. But slowly God has shown me that he has greater plans than even I could have imagined. I still don’t know for sure where I’ll end up, but I want to use some of my skill and love for mathematics to serve God. If it means being a teacher, then I am willing. If I can become an engineer or a minister and teach part time, whatever God has planned for me, I will follow his guidance.
