So God has a funny way of timing things. When I got the blogging assignment, I had just finished a class about worldly philosophies. Our youth minister, Jeremy, taught this class. The funny part of it all is that this class was called “I Believe”. The class dealt with how the bible can disprove any philosophy that the world might have. One thing that really opened up my eyes while i was listening to my youth minister teach, God revealed that I occasionally live by some of the theories. For example, “if it feels good, it is good” theory of the Hedonist, or “question authority” the theory of the antinomian. at points in my christian walk i was living by these philosophies of the world. I learned that the one and only way to keep on the straight path is to stay in the word. I love my daily quiet time, its something that if i didnt have it I would be far down in things I dont need to be in. The word is so much fun! I love connecting thing that are modern day back to a scripture. I dont always vocalize this but i do think about it often. i made copies of my i believe statements for ya’ll to read.
I Believe
Kevin King
I believe that life is to be lived out for eternal treasure
rather than momentary pleasure
˜
I believe that joy should be sought in Christ and not
in the pleasures of the flesh
˜
I believe that God has placed authority in my life to protect my
heart,
I will follow it.
˜
I believe that absolute truth can only be found in Christ,
I believe that having faith in Christ is vital for me
“I will walk by faith, not by sight”
˜
Amazing, Kevin! This was great to read, really eye opening. It’s difficult to see sometimes how much the beliefs of this world we fit into our own beliefs in Christ because we don’t have a strong relationship with Him! Thanks for the reminder!
Kevin King, that is very amazing!
Kevin that was sooo awesome. I am going to print your statements off as a reminder as to why we are here on earth and the purpose God has for us. Thanks for sharing…it touched my heart!
I liked the timing of this assignment, too. Thank you for the part about questioning authority:)
